Regulations for Construction
& Loud Noise Hours
Village ordinance prohibits work
done with loud machinery that disturbs the peace and quiet in the Village
before the hours of 7:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday,
and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No work is permitted on Sundays.
In addition, no work is permitted on the holidays of New Year's Day, Memorial
Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Loud noise includes construction machinery, snow blowers, leaf blowers,
and powered lawnmowers. Failure to abide by these work hour regulations
may result in receiving a fine of up to $50.00 for the first offense.

To set up Water and Refuse Service
If you are moving into
Kenilworth, please call the Village Office @ 847.251.1666 (ask for
Taylor Jones) to have the water and refuse service changed to your name.
Make sure that the current owners of the property have called the office
and have set up a final water reading.
If you are moving out
of Kenilworth, please call the Village Office @ 847.251.1666 (ask for
Taylor Jones) to set up a final water read and notify the Village of your
new mailing address.
Refuse Service and Special Pick Ups

The Village's waste collection,
yard waste collection, and recycling collection is handled by via contract
with Perrin Brothers Trucking.
Household garbage, including
recyclables is collected twice each week only when all materials are placed
in proper containers. Household garbage should be place in containers
with tight fitting lids of 40 gallons or less and quantities should not
exceed three (3) 40 gallon containers in one day or six (6) 40 gallon
containers in one week. Collection of household garbage in excess
of these amounts and collection of large items, construction materials,
and large quantities of tree or brush clippings is considered a special
pick up. To arrange for a special pickup, please contact
the Perrin Brothers directly at (888) 622-6480.
Recycling
Recycling bags are available 24 hours in the lobby of Village
Hall and may be picked up after business hours and weekends.
We ask you to provide your name, address, and the date you picked up the
recycling bags on the yellow sign-in sheet on the front counter of Village
Hall. Please take only two bundles at a time so that bags will be available
to other residents. Perrin Brothers Trucking Company accepts all recyclable
materials including magazines, soda bottles, tin cans, etc.
Keep in mind that materials that contain food waste or Styrofoam are not
considered recyclable. Due to regulations regarding the
dumping of yard waste and recycling, recycling bags are NOT acceptable to use for the purpose of lawn waste
removal.
Battery
Recycling
The Village of
Kenilworth is partnering with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County
(SWANCC) to offer a battery recycling program, Monday through Friday, 8:30
AM - 5:00 PM at the Village Hall, 419 Richmond Road.
Rechargeable,
NiCd, NiMh, lithium ion, lithium polymer or household alkaline batteries
will be accepted. Please Note: Each rechargeable battery
(lithium, NiMh, and NiCad) must have masking tape on contact points or be
placed in an individual zip-lock plastic bag. If you have questions,

Lawn Waste Pick-up
The Village's landscape waste collection program runs April 1 through
December 15 annually. The Village's waste removal provider, Perrin Brothers
Trucking Company, collects yard waste in lawn bags typically available
at most retail hardware and grocery stores including but not limited to
Jewel, Dominick's, Walgreen's, Home Depot, Menards, etc. The Village no
longer sells lawn bags at the Village Hall.
Yard Waste such as grass clippings, leaves and small hedge and brush
trimmings must be placed in 30 gallon paper bags identified "For
Yard Waste Only" for curbside or alley pick up. No rock, stone,
gravel or other similar materials should be mixed with the yard waste. One
(10) bundle of small branches not exceeding 36" in length or 12" in
diameter will be taken at the yard waste collection point each pick up
day when properly tied with biodegradable twine or fabric. None
of the braches in the bundle should exceed 3 1/2" in diameter. Large
quantities of tree and brush clippings and branches exceeding 3 1/2 " in
diameter are considered a "Special Pick Up" as described above.

Solid Waste Agency of
Northern Cook County
The Solid Waste Agency of Northern
Cook County (SWANCC) is a unit of local government and a non-profit
corporation. Twenty-three communities in northern Cook County joined to
form SWANCCÂ in 1988. SWANCC developed a long-term plan to
manage the region's municipal solid waste that was adopted by its Board
of Directors in 1991.
Since then, SWANCC has been at
work implementing this economically stable and environmentally safe solution
to the region's solid waste management needs.
You can sign up for SWANCC's
elist and never forget another event! This can be done either at the SWANCC
website, www.swancc.org, or you can

collection events and other useful information.

Vehicle Licenses
Stickers are due to be displayed on
your vehicles on July 1st. Vehicle sticker applications are mailed
in late May by the Village to all households. You may also download
the printable application. Please see Forms.

Dog Licenses
Dogs over four months old must be
licensed. Printable license applications can be downloaded from
the following link, Forms, or they may
be picked up at Village Hall.
A current rabies certificate and veterinarian's name, address and telephone
number must be filled in together with the appropriate fee to be processed. The
fee for dog licenses is $30.00 renewable each year. The license
runs effective on a calendar year.

Alarm Permits
Alarm permits are required annually.

Police Department website (kenilworthpd.org)
or through the Village's website at Forms.

Voter Registration
Residents may register to vote at Village Hall during regular hours
8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. In order to register, one must be an U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or
older before the next election and provide two forms of identification
(one must have a current address). Absentee registration forms are available to be picked up at Village
Hall approximately four (4) weeks prior to a scheduled election.
