The Ad Hoc Committee for Community Planning was created by the President and Board of Trustees on January 12, 2004. The seven member body was charged with undertaking a community-wide survey to gather resident attitudes and opinions regarding building and zoning issues in the community, and to begin the undertaking of a strategic plan for the Village. The survey development was completed in late April, 2004, and distributed to residents in May, 2004. Community response to the survey was strong, and the Ad Hoc Committee began its review of survey conclusions in July, 2004. Since that time, the Committee's term of office has been extended three times to allow it time to complete its important and complex deliberations. The Committee has, at this time, forwarded to the Board of Trustees its recommendations on:
The Committee is currently finalizing its work on real estate riders, and will be participating, along with the Plan Commission, in the development of a Comprehensive Plan. The Committee's current term of appointment is set to expire in December, 2006. The members of the Committee consist of two Village Trustees and five residents at-large. The Committee encourages all residents to attend its meetings and voice opinions as it considers these many important community issues.
