2004 Preliminary
Kenilworth Survey Results

Dear Neighbor,

On June 21, 2004, the Village’s outside consultants, Teska Associates and Business Districts, Inc., presented the preliminary results of the community-wide survey to the Ad Hoc Committee for Community Planning. Some of the highlights from the survey are:

• Teska Associates sent out 912 surveys and received back 497 surveys, of which 180 had a separate response for two adult household members.. .for a total of 677 qualified responses. This is a 54.6% return rate, which far exceeded the expectations of the consultants and the Ad Hoc Committee;
• The surveys that were returned are fairly distributed amongst the 5 areas of the Village as depicted in the questionnaire; and
• Respondents also added extensive comments to their responses which will be helpfial in evaluating the survey results.

Preliminary tabulations of the survey results and a Powerpoint presentation on the results, as received from our consultants, are available at Village Hall, or are available for download by clicking on the tabs below. The Ad Hoc Committee has asked the consultants to do further quantitative cross tabulations which will be reviewed at its next meeting on July 7, 2004. From there, the Ad Hoc Committee should receive the final report from the consultants before the end of the summer. The Committee is planning on holding a Village-wide meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall to share the final survey results and preliminary conclusions with residents.

The Ad Hoc Committee intends to use the final survey results to help develop a strategic/comprehensive plan that the Village will be able to use for policy formulation in addressing resident concerns about the fhture of the Village.

The Ad Hoc Committee, along with Village Trustees, greatly appreciates everyone’s efforts and contributions to make sure that all of our residents had an opportunity to participate in the survey. The response and comments received is indicative of the strong interest residents have in our community.
